LAKEWOOD, Colo.—The Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) said space is still available for “Managing Myopia,” an interactive online course that runs from June 12 through July 3. The course offers tools and modules to educate doctors and clinic staff, enabling them to offer patients evidence-based myopia management plans. With back to school season approaching, participants will learn new information they can share with parents who may be wondering about options for managing their child’s progressing myopia.

Ninety eight percent of practitioners surveyed after taking the Managing Myopia Course have changed the way they manage myopia, moving from correcting myopia to using strategies to slow progression of myopia, according to BHVI.

“Suddenly there’s a new conversation to have with your patients and parents. After a length of time in practice, you find yourself practicing in a similar way each day. It was so refreshing to go ‘wow,’ this is something new, and something I can really help my patients with on a functional level,” remarked Linda Chous, OD, a pediatric optometrist in Minnesota who took the course.
