ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Shamir Insight Inc. is the latest industry partner to support Think About Your Eyes, a national public awareness campaign that educates consumers on the benefits of vision health. With Shamir Insight Inc.’s support, the number of industry leadership partner organizations involved in the Think About Your Eyes campaign is now at 19.

“Shamir is very excited about joining the Think About Your Eyes coalition and are proud that we are expanding the involvement of lens companies in supporting this critical industry growth initiative,” said Raanan Naftalovich, CEO Shamir Insight, Inc. “We believe that this campaign is truly changing the way Americans take care of their vision and that it is an effort our industry needed for a very long time.”

Since the campaign’s national launch, eye exams have increased 5.2 percent, leading to an additional 9.1 million annual eye exams and the diagnosis of more than 1 million previously undiagnosed eye diseases, The Vision Council said in a statement.

“We are thrilled that another leader in the lens category has lent its support. It only amplifies our ability to raise awareness of the importance of consumer eye health,” said Dave Plogmann, managing director of Think About Your Eyes. “Shamir continues to demonstrate its commitment to the industry and its customers, and we hope that others will follow their lead.”

Additionally, the TAYE campaign has had a successful first quarter of 2015 boasting 2,600 TV spots, 14 million online radio spots, 270,000 radio spots, 46 million digital banner ads, accumulating over 550,000 million impressions and driving more than 264,000 website visits, The Vision Council added.
