ATLANTA—SECO International, one of the largest optometric education meetings for eyecare professionals, announced the “Champion” partner companies for SECO 2017, which will run March 1 to 5, 2017, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The Champion Premier Partners include Bausch + Lomb, Alcon, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and Allergan, according to a SECO statement. Partners for the event are: Hoya, Abbott Medical Optics and, for the first time, Shire.

SECO’s Champion program, supported by partnerships among leaders in the ophthalmic industry, helps to provide optometric professionals “with the tools to achieve the highest levels of clinical knowledge and performance,” according to SECO.

In addition, SECO announced that four other organizations will hold co-located meetings during SECO’s 94th Annual Congress. They are:

• The Armed Forces Optometric Society will hold its Federal Service Optometry Program 2017 from February 27 to 28 at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta Downtown.
• The College of Optometrists in Vision Development will meet March 5 to 6 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center with presentations from Kellye Knueppel, OD, FCOVD and Brenda Montecalvo, OD, FCOVD.
• The Energeyes Association will present its SECO Sunday meeting on March 5 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center with two training programs for its members, one on moving to a multi-location practice and one on dry eye.
• The Society of National Associated Pearle Professionals will join SECO for the first time with its SNAPP Atlanta 2017 national meeting, being held March 1 to 3 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center.

“SECO International is proud to partner with other, like-minded organizations to offer a comprehensive, world-class optometric event for eyecare professionals,” Dr. Ted McElroy, president of SECO International, said. “Our Champion partners are a major reason why we can continue to provide access to top-notch education and programs.”
