BELLPORT, N.Y.—OptiSource International, a supplier of lens processing consumable supplies and consumer eyeglass accessories, has acquired Peeper Keepers, an eyewear retainer company based in Portland, Ore. The terms of the transaction were not announced. Since 1979, the Peeper Keepers brand has been known for their “Stay Put” rubber grip ends, comfortable materials and focus on outdoor sports. Over the past two years OptiSource was the exclusive optical industry distributor for the company. The popular eyewear retainers, which are made in the U.S., are available in a wide range of styles, materials, and grip end designs.

“The Peeper Keepers brand has a decades-old reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability,” said Daryl Squicciarini, president of OptiSource International, an Essilor subsidiary based in Bellport, N.Y. “The fit between Peeper Keepers values and OptiSource’s made the acquisition opportunity an easy decision.”

Phil Riley, president of Peeper Keepers, commented, “OptiSource has been a strategic partner that really embraces the product line, brand, and customer needs. While Peeper Keepers has been a staple item in other retail industries, optical is where Peeper Keepers has focused to provide ECP’s with products that provide maximum value for both owners and patients.”
