Ocuco Named by Deloitte as One of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies

DUBLIN—Ocuco, a leading provider of optical practice and lab software for the global eyecare industry, has been named as one of Ireland’s best managed companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards program, according to an announcement from Ocuco. The company, which demonstrated superior business performance was recognized at an awards gala dinner in Dublin in March. The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards program is celebrating 10 years of recognizing management excellence. As part of the program, 22 new companies join a requalifying network of more than 100 companies, built over a decade of the program.

The awards, in association with Bank of Ireland, culminated with the Best Managed Companies Awards symposium and gala, which was attended by over 1,000 people from the Irish business community. In total, 137 companies were recognized as Best Managed Companies and have a combined revenue of over €12 billion.

Commenting on the award, Leo MacCanna, CEO of Ocuco said, “The Best Managed Companies has been an excellent opportunity to review, probe and test our strategy, management systems and team within a formal framework provided by Deloitte. I have to give all of the credit to our management team for entering and running this process successfully from start to finish.”

Deloitte partner, Anya Cummins said, “2018 marks the 10th year of the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards program, which has grown from 25 companies in year 1 to 137 in year 10. The program represents companies from different industries with many industry-specific challenges but also common characteristics such as adaptability, innovation and ambition. Their stories are the stories of Irish business this past decade, and they are stories of resilience, recovery and confidence.”

Over 7,500 sites in 77 countries use Ocuco’s software and services. The company has more than 200 staff based in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, England, Wales, France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Australia and China.
