LAKELAND, Tenn.—The Opticians Association of America (OAA)—an organization that represents opticianry’s business, professional, educational legislative and regulatory interests—announced that it is now accepting nominations for its 2017-2018 board of directors.

The board of directors will be composed of the four elected officers, the immediate past president, Guild council chairman and eight directors. The eight elected directors will be composed of two firm members, two honored fellows representing individual membership, two members from state society membership and two at-large members, who must also be a firm member, or honored fellow and a have been a voting member of the Association for a minimum of one year.

“As the immediate past president, it is my honor and duty to serve as this year's Nominating Committee Chair. As the Opticians Association of America (OAA) continues to grow, it is of the utmost importance that we continue to have quality leaders serve as board of directors,” said Tom Barracato, chair of the Nominating Committee.

Click here to nominate a candidate. Nomination forms are due July 14, 2017 and the new board will be elected during the Delegate Assembly at Opticon, taking place Oct. 6 to 8 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
