ORLANDO—The American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) has named Stephanie Ann McLin Cox, OD, FAAO, the recipient of the 2018 Korb-Exford Dry Eye Career Development Grant. Dr. Cox, who graduated from the Southern College of Optometry, is a post-doctoral research fellow at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Mass. Her winning proposal was titled “Neurological Aspects of Dry Eye Disease,” and was chosen as the winner out of a group of eleven highly competitive proposals. The grant is a generous donation from Drs. Donald Korb and Joan Exford, who have donated $25,000 to establish the grant which will support Dr. Cox as she expands her knowledge in the broad area of dry eye. Dr. Cox will be recognized at the AAOF Celebration Luncheon during the American Academy of Optometry’s annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas, on Nov. 7 to 10, 2018.
