Carol Alexander, OD.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Johnson & Johnson Vision has appointed Carol Alexander, OD, as head, North America Vision Care Professional Relations, according to an announcement on Thursday. In this role, Alexander will work to strengthen the relationship between Johnson & Johnson Vision and the optometric community in the U.S., with a focus on partnering with national optometric associations and organizations to advance eye health and patient care, according to the announcement. She will continue to partner with Mike Mayers, OD, in supporting advocacy efforts.

Alexander will fill the role left vacant when Dr. Millicent Knight left Johnson & Johnson Vision earlier this year for a new position at Essilor of America.

Alexander's proven track record and service to the optometric profession make her an exceptional choice for this role, the announcement noted. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Alexander led her own private practice for over 20 years. She has been recognized by the American Optometric Association (AOA) as the Young OD of the Year, and the state of Ohio as the Optometrist of the Year.

She has served on many AOA committees, including as chair of the Commission on Quality Assessment and Improvement and is a past president of the Ohio Optometric Association.

Alexander holds her OD degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry.
