SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—GSRx, Inc., an independent wholesale lab located here, has appointed industry veteran Jeff Hopkins as marketing director.

“GSRx’s consistent growth shows that independent practitioners appreciate the way we are helping them retain more optical business and grow in a competitive market,” said GSRx CEO Dave Jochims. “With Jeff Hopkins onboard, we will be able to take our message farther, and provide more tools to help independent practices compete.”

Hopkins has worked in a variety of marketing, PR and training roles with SOLA Optical and Zeiss Vision Care. Most recently, he has worked as a consultant and contributor to optical trade publications. In his new role at GSRx, he will be responsible for the rollout of the company’s new, branded store-in-store initiative, which will include over 250 high-quality frames and an online frame selection platform.

GSRx provides frames, Unity, Zeiss and private label lenses, lab services and marketing expertise for independent eyecare professionals. The two-year-old company, which is a VSP-authorized lab, Unity Allied Lab and Zeiss distributor, aggressively prices its products and services to provide ECPs with the eyewear required to maintain patients and drive profits.
