GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Grand Rapids Ophthalmology (GRO)—a comprehensive eyecare provider offering ophthalmology, optometry and retail optical services in West Michigan—opened its newest eyecare location late last month in East Grand Rapids. The Lakeshore Eye office is “part of GRO’s growing commitment to providing West Michigan a broad spectrum of high quality, state-of-the-art eyecare products and services,” according to an announcement.

It is the 12th location GRO operates in Michigan. “This office is an exciting addition for our organization,” said Bill Hughson, who was named chief executive officer of GRO in May. “It is within walking distance to many of our patients’ homes, and the new optical boutique is a welcome addition to the amenities Gas Light Village already provides residents and visitors.”

Gaslight Village, in the heart of East Grand Rapids, is a vibrant area of shops, restaurants and service providers designed to provide a range of daily needs to residents in the community.

The Lakeshore Eye office features a remodeled interior with a wide range of eyeglasses for adults and children, including sporty styles, stylish looks and updated classics, according to the announcement. There’s also a deep assortment of sunglasses, including such leading brands as Maui Jim and Ray-Ban.

William Schultz, OD, who has been practicing in East Grand Rapids for the past 21 years, will continue to see his patients at this newly renovated office.

Founded in 1982, Grand Rapids Ophthalmology is the largest fully-integrated eyecare medical group in West Michigan. GRO also employs the largest number of eyecare specialists and professionals in the region: 11 ophthalmologists, 19 optometrists, 40 certified opticians and 300 support staff.
