JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Organizers of FinalEyesCE, a collaborative training effort focused on co-management opportunities for optometrists and ophthalmologists, announced today the return of the three day conference for OD’s and MD’s alike to be held on Feb. 20 through, Feb. 22, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. The Organizers have partnered with Energeyes, the association of corporate-affiliated optometrists, to expand the program and manage the event.

The FinalEyesCE conference organizers took a year off since their last meeting “to determine the best means of moving forward with this growing event,” their statement said..“As a group of doctors, the conference became too popular and large for us to manage,” reported Rajesh Shetty, MD one of the organizers of the event. “At the same time, we were seeking way to expand the meeting in order to teach both ophthalmologists and optometrists the art of co-management for the betterment of their practices and the patients they serve.”

Stated Jon Walker, OD, Energeyes board member and FinalEyesCE organizer, “As a board member of Energeyes, and one of the organizers of the FinalEyesCE event, I saw a unique opportunity to combine the organization skills and the membership reach of the association with a conference model of co-management that fit the association’s mission.”

The FinalEyesCE conferences offers a day of golf followed by 15 hours of CE and CME courses. Baptist Medical Center is the host for this meeting and TPC Sawgrass is the golf venue. “The day of golf is also a strategic part of the event,” stated Walker. “It is an opportunity for the professionals to truly get to know one another before focusing on the learning objectives for the weekend.”

Organizers are now offering vendors who serve both the MD and OD communities an opportunity to participate. Information can be found on their website.
