NEW YORK—Early bird registration for “A-Eye - Artificial Intelligence,” Vision Monday’s 11th annual Global Leadership Summit, ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 15. One of the most anticipated events in the eyewear and optical industry for senior level executives, the day-long conference will take place March 29, 2017 at The Times Center in New York.

In addition, another speaker has been added to the program roster. Prof. Kovin Naidoo, OD, MPH, PhD, FAAO and CEO of the Brien Holden Vision Institute, will speak about vision care’s involvement in AI via plans for the newly-formed Microsoft Intelligent Network for Eyecare (MINE)—a global consortium of commercial, research and academic institutions who have joined to apply artificial intelligence to help in the elimination of avoidable blindness and scale delivery of eyecare services worldwide.

Microsoft India, in collaboration with L V Prasad Eye Institute launched the initiative which includes such organizations as Brien Holden Vision Institute (Australia) Bascom Palmer Eye Institute - University of Miami (USA), Flaum Eye Institute - University of Rochester (USA) and Federal University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). The partner organizations will collaborate and collectively work on diverse datasets of patients across geographies to come up with machine learning predictive models for vision impairment and eye disease.


Naidoo joins previously announced speakers from IBM Watson Commerce, Adgorithms and Moorefield’s Eye Hospital.
