VICTOR, N.Y.—One of the world’s leading contact lens manufacturers, CooperVision, Inc. (a unit of The Cooper Companies, Inc. NYSE: COO), celebrated the grand opening of its new corporate offices here in the vicinity of Rochester, N.Y., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Aug. 27, 2015. With approximately 325 employees having relocated into the new building from the former location in Fairport, N.Y., the newly constructed facility will allow additional room for the company’s continued growth, enabling greater collaboration and more efficient workflows resulting from a flexible, open floorplan, according to a statement from the company.

In addition to CooperVision’s president of North America, Jerry Warner, being located here, employees at this location work in marketing, sales, finance, information technology, customer service and supply chain management. The company also maintains two other Rochester-area facilities, its made-to-order contact lens manufacturing site in Scottsville, N.Y., and its global logistics and distribution center in West Henrietta, N.Y.

In total, CooperVision employs more than 1,250 people in the region. The company currently occupies 76,000 square feet of the new building with the ability to add more if needed. Known for its employee wellness program, CooperVision’s new space offers an on-premises fitness facility twice the size of the gym at the former office, as well as hiking trails on the property.

“CooperVision’s headquarters are in Northern California, yet 80 percent of our U.S. operations are in Rochester,” said Warner. “Our significant presence in this region, and the people who work for us here, are integral to the continued growth and success of this company. We want to stay here and grow here. Finding new office space in the area was important to us—solidifying our ongoing commitment to the Rochester area.” Warner and other CooperVision employees were joined at Friday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony by the building contractors the Rainaldi Brothers, as well as Ontario County Administrator John Garvey and Victor Town Supervisor Jack Marren.
