VICTOR, N.Y.—CooperVision Inc. has announced a call for submissions for its Best Practices recognition program for U.S. optometry offices. The Best Practices initiative, now seeking its third group of honorees, is designed to discover and recognize optometry offices advancing the profession through innovation, industry leadership and patient experience, according to the announcement. Practices currently fitting contact lenses are eligible to apply.

“After two years of close partnership with our Best Practices honorees, I can say we have been blown away by our honorees’ various approaches toward patient care, practice management, community engagement, industry leadership and more,” Michele Andrews, OD, senior director of professional and academic affairs, North America, CooperVision, said in the announcement. “Hearing all of their stories—and seeing the results of their efforts in their practices—is proof that there is no one way to success and everybody can find their niche.”

She added, “From private practice to corporate optometry, these honorees are contributing to the advancement of the profession in big ways and small. We are proud to kick off the third year of this initiative, and look forward to adding new perspective and expertise to our distinguished group of Best Practices in 2018.”

In 2015, CooperVision launched its Best Practices to recognize the innovative and unexpected things that ECPs do to provide the best possible care to patients, grow their practices and advance the profession. The company has now named 20 eyecare practices throughout the U.S. as Best Practices honorees.

Best Practices candidates are encouraged to submit practice profiles and stories, sharing their insights and experiences in the following areas: innovation (evaluated on contributions to the betterment of eye health and education and leveraging technology in interesting ways to grow the practice), industry leadership (rated on how a practice advances the profession and leads the industry regionally, nationally and even globally) and patient experience (judged on how a practice delivers excellent eyecare experiences and education to its patients), the announcement noted.

Candidates can choose to submit their stories via written response or video at EyeCareBestPractices.com. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 31. A panel that includes past Best Practices honorees, industry experts and CooperVision leaders will judge the submissions.

The 2018 Best Practices will be announced in early 2018, according to CooperVision. For more information about the Best Practices initiative, to see past honorees, or to apply, visit www.EyeCareBestPractices.com.
