LAKEWOOD, Colo.—Advanced Vision Technologies (AVT), based here, and Precilens, located in France, have signed a license agreement allowing AVT to manufacture the DRL, an advanced Ortho-K design, in the U.S. DRL, Double Reservoir Lens, was invented by Dr. Jaume Paune, of Spain. Its unique features enables correcting myopia up to -7.00D and cylinder up to -4.00D at any axis, much easier, according to AVT. The DRL is also available for hyperopia up to +4.00 D. The optical zone can easily be customized for children, AVT said. Click & Fit, a software program to aid doctors in the designing of the DRL, will be released at a later date.
