CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.—In keeping with its commitment to making a positive impact on local communities, ABB Optical Group, a leading distributor of optical products, has launched a signature annual grants program to support non-profit organizations nominated by eyecare professionals nationwide.

In its inaugural year, the ABB Cares program will highlight and celebrate outstanding organizations throughout the country that have improved the quality of life in their communities. Five organizations will be selected to receive a $1,000 grant, according to an announcement from the company.

“At ABB Optical Group, we like to think of ourselves as a community of leaders helping to make life better, and our new ABB Cares program is a direct reflection of our belief in the power of corporate giving and philanthropy,” said ABB Optical Group CEO Angel Alvarez. “We encourage all eyecare professionals to participate by nominating an organization near and dear to their community that they believe has made a positive impact and deserves recognition.”

Organizations do not need to focus on eye health to qualify. Applications are now available and must be completed and submitted online by Sept. 12.
