ROCKVILLE, Md.—The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) is sponsoring a free online “virtual fair” for prospective optometry students beginning at 9 a.m. today (June 14).

Twenty-three ASCO-member schools and colleges are expected to have admissions representatives participate online in the virtual fair, according to an announcement by the New England College of Optometry (NECO).

During the virtual fair, which includes chat sessions that continue through 7:30 p.m., prospective optometry students can learn more about each of the 23 schools and colleges, ask questions about their respective application processes and find out more information about the field of optometry as a profession.

A list of the 23 participating optometry schools is available here.

ASCO noted that the virtual fair is designed to help schools lower admissions costs by using this online solution to interact with top-quality prospects. Participating schools also can interact with students in their own chat rooms and have an option to conduct video sessions. For more details, visit the website for the virtual fair
