ESSEN, Germany—The 2018 Red Dot Awards in Product Design have recognized various eyewear companies for their latest innovations. On July 9, the winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 were celebrated at the Red Dot Gala at Essen’s opera house, the Aalto Theatre. Each year, the Red Dot award for product design recognizes the best products created in 48 categories that manufactures and designers can enter their innovations to be considered in the competition. This year, Mykita, Lindberg, Silhouette, ROLF, Eschenbach Optik, Shwood Eyewear, Sunski, Odd Skin Out, Tapole Co., Ltd. and Xiamen Sunhaven Optical Co., Ltd took home awards.

Silhouette took home a product design award for its Accent Rings collection of frames as well as one for its Adidas 3D frames. Mykita was recognized for its Lessrim collection of frames. Lindberg was honored for its trae + buffalo horn precious frame style. Rolf was recognized for its Break frame style while Shwood took home the honor for its Kinsrow sunglasses and Sunski for its Treelines style.

Eschenbach Optik was awarded for its Brendel 906125 and Titanflex 824099 frame styles. Hong Kong-based company, Odd Skin Out Limited received the award for its Rigards Model RG0086AL while Xiamen Sunhaven Optical Co., Ltd. was honored for its Serra sunglass. Tapole Co., Ltd. was recognized for its Tapole Series T style.
